StoneTally is a personal macOS time tracker. It has no advertising SDK, behavioral analytics, account system, or StoneTally-operated tracking backend.
Local data
Projects, time entries, settings, and optional captured artifacts are stored in your macOS user account. Screen and audio capture are off by default and run only while at least one timer is active. Raw screenshots, audio, and unredacted transcripts are deleted after 30 days by default; you can change the retention period or delete them immediately.
iCloud
When available in a properly signed build, Apple CloudKit synchronizes projects, companies, plan items, and time entries through your private iCloud database. StoneTally does not place screenshots, audio, transcripts, or generated day insights in CloudKit.
No third-party transmission
StoneTally has no account system, no server, and no analytics or advertising SDK. Captured screenshots, audio, and transcripts are never uploaded anywhere. The only data that leaves your Mac is the iCloud sync described above, which travels through Apple's own framework into your private database.
Permissions and control
macOS controls access to Screen Recording, Microphone, and Speech Recognition. You can revoke those permissions in System Settings. StoneTally includes controls to inspect storage, purge expired captures, and delete all artifacts.
